Jacob Golden is Soundfires favourite singer-songwriter and on new single 'On A Saturday' he does nothing but reinforces this fact.
On A Saturday is Jacob's finest moment from 'Revenge Songs', a song of multilayered vocal chorus' and tender lyrics singing of watching girls in Soho Square. Jacob floats in the song as a ghost-like unseen figure, falling in love over and over again but never keeping hold of that love for more than a moment.
The b-side is a cover of legendary punk rock outfit The Descendents. Taken from the bands most recent album, 'Merican' is a controversial statement comparing the great leaders and writers of America and the shameful events and organisations that make up the countrys corrupted soul. A perfect choice for Jacob who converts the song into a lusty eulogy full of remorse and muted anger.
