Wiley - Wearing My Rolex

Format: Single
Release Date: 5th May 2008
Label: Asylum Records
Rating:

Wiley, as part of the Roll Deep crew, has done more than most to advance the Grime sound and scene in the last few years. The producer/MC is now back from self-imposed retirement with 'Wearing My Rolex', an electro-dance track that has received considerably radio support.

The track is decent enough, with a strong mixture of grime beats, disco synth and accessible rapping. It misses, however, a real urgency and the eclectisism of previous Wiley efforts and is worth a few listens but not a permanent place on your iPod.
