Jay Sean’s latest single ‘Ride It’ has been added to pretty much every radio playlist in the country, and for good reason. Mixing up Asian flavoured drums with sweet male RnB vocals, the track has a smooth vibe to it that could filter into the mind of even the laziest listener. There is a level of intelligence in the musical construct, namely the almost waveform motion that keeps the body swaying along, that belies the ‘clubby’ vocal line over the top. This track could easily be the last of the night at a sweaty London club or the song you make breakfast to on a Thursday morning. Good songwriting and a refreshing crossing of genres that suggests a great future for this talented young artist…
