Daughtry - Home Format: Single Release Date: 29th Oct 2007 Label: Sony Rating: Daughtry's eponymous debut album came in at number 13 in the Uk charts in August and on the back of over 3 million sales in America. You may well wonder how a band got this big so quickly, well you don't have to look any further than lead singer Chris Daughtry's participation in American Idol to find the reason. Well, that simplifies the situation and really does not do justice to the solid songwriting and fantastic production on the bands album. Sounding like American rock behomoths such as Creed and Goo Goo Dolls, this is a big sounding record with a singer who can belt them out like Bon Jovi. It is one of those records that soundtracks the emotional climax of an action film, think Aerosmith's rock skills combined with Nickelbacks annoyingly catchy vocals. With Indie boys and poppy girls in the charts at the moment, I guess its actually quite refreshing to hear a straight-up rock single like this.
