Wychwood Festival 2008 is delighted to announce the line-up for the third stage, the Wickwar stage, in full. Wychwood Festival will not only be showcasing the best of local upcoming and unsigned talent but smashing down the north south divide by bringing the best in northern talent to the festival, which takes place from 30 May to 1 June 2008 at Cheltenham Racecourse. Hailed as the best of the boutique festivals by the UK media, Wychwood Festival has established itself as a truly family-friendly outdoor music festival, with its unique blend of music, dance, arts, comedy and workshops.
In keeping with Wychwood’s eclectic musical make-up, the Wickwar Stage showcases everything folk, blues and country through to indie, rock and even hip-hop. Bands from across the north of England and as far North as Scotland, which includes The Black Bloc, Air Cav, Breaking The Illusion, The Steals and – winners of this year’s Glastonbury Festival Emerging Talent competition – The Travelling Band, will join a host of acts from the festival’s surrounding counties.

Wychwood Festival has also announce that Latin Dub Sound System have been confirmed as a late addition to Sunday’s Big Top line-up. In addition to the core collective of musicians, Latin Dub Sound System has featured a fluid array of singers, musicians and MCs, including artists Rodney P, Ska Cubana, Yungun, Eva Abraham and Benjamin Zephaniah among many others. Latin Dub Sound System’s beat-laden funky grooves are sure to get the crow in the right mood for the Silent Disco, which follows them that night. Talking of the Silent Disco, Welsh songstress Duffy has offered her tour DJ to Wychwood Festival and he will be dropping a Nothern Soul set for after hours revelers as the Silent Disco guest DJ slot.
Tickets for Wychwood Festival 2008 are priced at £100 for an adult weekend pass and £75 for concessions (12-18, unwaged, disabled, NUS). Day tickets are priced at £35(Fri), £50(Sat) and £40(Sun) for adults and £20(Fri), £35(Sat) and £25(Sun) for concessions. Two children under-12 are able to attend for free for every adult ticket purchased and any additional under 12’s are charged at £10 per ticket for the weekend. Campervan and live-in vehicle tickets can be purchased at a cost of £25.
